DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.- The #11 Royals baseball team was defeated by #17 Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University on Friday March 28, 2008 by a score of 1-6. The Royals fall to 24-13 on the year and remain in first place in the Florida Sun Conference with a record of 7-2. The Eagles jumped out to a two run lead in the second inning and never relinquished the lead. The Royals scored in the sixth inning to make the game a one-run game, but the Eagles came back in the bottom half of the inning to put on their final four runs. Daniel Payne pitched two innings in relief work striking out two and allowed no hits, no walks, and no runs. Shane Ynclan and Jason Caldwell led the Royals offensive charge each with two hits apiece including a double by Cladwell. Jed Yancey and Oren Suess each had a hit to round out the six hits for the Royals.
